Introduction

There are several Websites available that give users useful information on amount of different nutrients in varieties of food, and there are others that give the medicinal values of such nutrients for human health. However, currently these food and medicine Websites are not linked together. Users can find active ingredients of food on one site, while have to look up another site to find out more about the medicinal values these ingredients possess. Thus, the objective of SmartDiet is to link such food and medicine websites together for easy reference. By doing so, one search would return all relevant information about the nutrients present in a given food together with their medicinal values for humans. The technologies used for implementation of SmartDiet would be XML, RDFS and RDF.
